Indian horror movies

I can say without a doubt that every time someone asks me which kind of a movie you wanna watch, ‘Horror is the first genre I think of’. But unfortunately most of my movie partners avoid watching horror movies. So most of the horror movies I’ve watched are either solo or in a group where everyone is going to make fun of the movie.

Still I’ve managed to watch a number of horror movies and today I will be listing hindi horror movies I find really scary.

Bhoot

Ram Gopal Verma has given us very unique movies in his time. And specially he explored a genre of horror movies. Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgan move into a flat and the story starts. This movie is shot in a haunted house. As the movie goes on you see Nana Patekar, Rekha, Tanuja, Fardeen Khan in different roles. Best part about this movie is there is one camera angle in which, the Ghost is looking at the characters of the story. I’ve watched this movie at least ten times, and every time I watched it I’ve seen a new thing about the taking of this brilliant director.

Raat

One more movie from Ram Gopal Verma, I can say that this movie has better scenes than Bhoot. I won’t say anything about the story but if you haven’t watched this movie I would strongly recommend it. Revati has done a really great job at the expressions. There is a scene when she goes to watch a movie in a theatre, just like one in Bhoot. But these two scene are completely different. For a better feel I would recommend watching this movie at night when you’re alone.

Raaz

I know most of you who already watched this movie will say this movie is not that great but I’m not listing top 5 horror movies. I’m listing a few movies you may enjoy revisiting. This film is shot in ‘Ooty’ I never thought a romantic place like Ooty could be used in a horror movie. And when I was revisiting this movie, I felt like listing it here. Unlike other movies I mentioned, this movie has songs in it. There are a lot of songs so you don’t need to worry about the length of the movie. You will skip almost every song.

This is not a typical hindi horror movie, this is available on PrimeVideo if you just want to experience a story this is a film for you. You won’t see starcast, songs, locations (filmy location) , scary props and all. This story will be enough to scare you.

Tumbad

This is something else, I remember when we’re planning to watch a movie I suggested this one. My brother and sister in law were not that interested in it. We decided to watch the movie and everyone including me watched the best hindi movie ever. I wish they would make more movies like this. Perfect story, no typical makeup of the ghost.
