Favorite actor – Manoj Bajpai

It is not easy to share screen with Amitabh Bachchan and still take all the attention.

One of the movies I enjoy watching again and again is ‘Daud’ in which the actor played a really small role. But it always amused me.

After a few years when I watched ‘Aks’, I started liking the actor more and more. It is not easy to share screen with Amitabh Bachchan and still take all the attention. Then I watched ‘Bandit Queen’, that movie made me a fan of Manoj Bajpai.

My brother always told me that his favorite movie was ‘Satya’ back then and I’m very much sure it didn’t change for him till today. I didn’t watch satya in the theatre honestly, on a fine night when I was running out of a list of movies to be watched. I started watching the movie. And my god that movie is still the best work of Manoj Bajpai, Ram Gopal Verma and Anurag Kashyap. None of them made a better movie in their careers.

There is one more movie I would strongly recommend watching is ‘Kaun’. You can see the acting level of Manoj Bajpai and Urmila Matondkar in it. This is one of the rare movies where you will see just two actors for the most of the time and three actors for few minutes. No songs, no dancing just story and the way Ram Gopal Varma has taken the shots are just next level.

After all these movies, there was ‘Gangs of wasseypur’ and everyone started praising Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin, Pankaj Tripathi, and Anurag Kashyap but trust me the actor has done really good work in past as well.

He played small or supporting roles in ‘Bandit Queen’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Veer zaara’, ‘Happy’ and more movies.

The latest of his works is ‘The Family Man’ and it’s second season also just arrived. If you haven’t watched it, I would recommend watching this as well.
